Your Favorite Spaces in 2019

2019 was made up of our biggest projects ever here at LBD. We designed, installed and revealed over 30 spaces, introduced video content, installed a show house, and had more speaking events than ever before. We’ve been doing a lot of work on the back end, too—like tracking fancy technical things like analytics and marketing data. In honor of December winding to a close, we thought it would be fun to wrap up our most liked, regrammed, pinned and shared projects for the year. Below, we’re counting down your favorite spaces in 2019.

OAK HILLS KITCHEN

We kicked off the year with the reveal of our Oak Hills Kitchen project which was our most shared project EVER. To be honest, we were pretty shocked how popular this space is and love how much you guys adored it. Our clients came to us with a super choppy, outdated floor plan with the goal of a bright, open, airy concept that acted as the heart of their home. You can see the full reveal, shop the sources, and get all the details here.

CAMARILLO RANCH MASTER BATH

Our Camarillo Ranch Master Bathroom was another fan favorite this year. I think everyone was so surprised to hear we did this part of the renovation on a tighter budget than everywhere else in the home. To make that happen, we used marble-look porcelain tile on the floors with a smaller pattern in the shower surround. The custom roman shade is probably my favorite detail that adds a punch of color and frames that amazing view.

NORTH RANCH LIVING ROOM + ENTRY

Our North Ranch Project was one of the more deeply personal projects for me. We worked on this project over the course of multiple years and the clients are close, personal friends. I think you guys loved this project so much because the darker moody vibes were unexpected from our team—and I freaking love that. You can watch the video tour of our North Ranch project here to get closeup looks at all the unexpected, super sculptural elements here.

NAVY STREET MASTER BEDROOM

I love this room so much. Our Navy Street clients are both doctors, so our entire job was making sure they felt relaxed, distraction free and totally comfortable in their home. The four poster bed blew up our Pinterest feed and I think the colorful pillow combination gave this serene retreat the visual interest it needed. See the rest of the space and get all the details here.

CALIFORNIA TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST NOOK

You guys LOVED the breakfast nook at our California Traditional project. We did a full furnishing project of this and love how we were able to bring our signature California Casual vibe to this super traditional home. Here in the breakfast nook, we custom made the bench cushion in a performance fabric to hold up to frequent entertaining and daily family life.

BRENTWOOD PROJECT STAIRWAY LANDING

This one could be MY favorite space of the year—I’m so obsessed with the bold details, the artwork we sourced at Market, and the gorgeous vintage rug. I’ve predicted it before + I’ll say it again: Landings are the new it-girl of Instagram in 2020. Tour this space and the stunning master bedroom retreat here.

HERMOSA BEACH KITCHEN

Kitchens are always the win the internet and we had the amazing privilege to work on so many this year. Our Hermosa Beach Project was the perfect example of remodel overwhelm. Our clients came to us after having every intention of completing the remodel themselves and realizing shortly into it they really needed a professional design team to bring their vision to life. You can read all about the transformation here.

BRENTWOOD PROJECT DINING ROOM

Our latest project to be revealed, the dining room was a huge hit. It beautifully balances its the homes traditional architectural bones that were added in its recent remodel along with modern, organic vibes. The caning on the dining chairs bring warm texture to the space and the stately globe light fixture add the perfect touch of glam. See the rest of the room and adjoining formal living room here.

Thank you all for an incredible year. We’ve gained so many dear friends this year – both through clients and through Instagram. We have a LOT happening in 2020 and can officially tell you more about it in just a few weeks. Thank you for being a part of our journey. And if you’re thinking of redesigning your home next year, we’d love to be a part of yours, too.
